This cluster focuses on careers in the planning, management, and movement of people, materials, and goods by road, pipeline, air, rail, and water and related professional and technical support services such as transportation infrastructure planning and management, logistics services, mobile equipment and facility maintenance.

The Transportation, Distribution, and Logistics Cluser is divided into seven pathways. Pathways are grouped by the knowledge and skills required of occupations in these career fields. Each pathway provides instruction as a basis for sucess in an array of careers and educational pursuits.

Aerospace Aviation Technology I & II

Recommended Prerequisite: Introduction to Transportation Services Careers
This course is a two-year technical laboratory sequence designed to provide training for entry-level employment in the aerospace aviation industry. It is a ground school program and instruction emphasizes aircraft design, power plants, flight instruments, navigation, and electronic communication. Also included is the calculation of flight time, fuel consumption, wind vector, drift, heading, and speed determinants.

Automotive Collision Repair And Refinishing Technology I & II

Instruction is designed to provide job-specific training for entry-level employment in the automotive after-market field of auto body repair and refinishing. Instruction emphasizes frame and body repair; metal, fiberglass, and synthetic materials repair; welding skills; preparation and application of primers and paints.

Automotive Technician I & II

Instruction is designed to provide job-specific training for entry-level employment in the automotive engine repair and service career field. First-year instruction emphasizes use of repair manuals, service and/or repair of basic automobile components—fuel systems, engines, emission controls, power trains, chassis, electrical systems, brakes, heating and air conditioning. Second-year instruction is designed to enhance job-specific training for employment in automotive engine repair and service career field.

Introduction To Transportation Service Careers

A cluster course designed to provide a broad basic understanding of career opportunities and training requirements and introduce skills in six transportation-related service careers: aircraft mechanics, auto body and collision repair, automotive technology, diesel engine mechanics, small engine repair, and mechanics.
